1/2/11 Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – Assassins
Oh Orson, go F yourself.  “Judy kicked me out, can I stay with you?”  UMMMM, NO. NO. No. No, no, no, no.  The ensuing food fight was great though, and did make me laugh.  Bree is so much better suited to Orson, but Keith seems to bring out a fun side to her that Orson doesn’t touch,  I am glad Orson got to see her with Keith in a moment where she let her guard down and showed her true feelings for Keith.
I think Gaby is starting to have a breakdown of some kind.  While I completely understand Carlos’ point of view, he didn’t bond with Grace like Gabby did.  And while the therapist may have been right about what will help Juanita, I don’t think any of them have taken into account what Gabby is going through.  This is a really difficult situation, and I agree, and disagree, with everyone involved, to one degree or another.
Susan refused to accept that things have to change, and instead of following the advice of her nurse, and her doctor, and insisted on taking MJ for ice cream.  So, instead of him being scared she might die, he was traumatized by watching her have a seizure on the hospital hallway floor.  I would say that is a much worse option.  I wanted to slap her for this, for not listening to the professionals and thinking she knew better.  It would be a better show without her, but there is no way Susan is going to die.  So now we get to see her deal with dialysis and being ill instead.  Uggh, not like Susan was frail enough before, now it’s going to be even worse.  And would someone PLEASE buy Mike a razor.  I know he was in Alaska, but he is back now; shave for goodness sake.  Carlos did, and he looks 10 years younger because of it.
Paul now knows that his wife is Felicia’s daughter.  He is obviously going to use this to his advantage somehow in the future, although I don’t think he knows yet what he is going to do with the information.  I think a part of him may be hurt by what I am sure he sees as a betrayal, and we all know a hurt Paul is like a hurt animal:  he will strike out to protect himself.

Brothers & Sisters – Scandalized
I LOVED Seth’s personalized ringtone for his mother.  The scream really cracked me up.
Scotty and Kevin giving back their baby in their role-playing made me tear up.  Those two have more emotional resonance with me than anyone else on this show.  For me, Scotty is really the heart of their relationship, and he has the biggest heart of any of the characters.  That may be why I identify with him and feel for them as a couple.  I teared up again when they realized the little girl, Olivia chose them.  I really hope they end up with her!
The dinner Nora hosted was one of the most uncomfortable dinners they have had on this show in a long time.  Carl was seriously a douche and I hope that was the last we see of him.  I love the actor and want Nora to be happy, but he is not right for her.
Did I miss something with Justin?  Last I remember he said he wanted to be an EMT, and now he is one?  Did he just walk in and say, I want to be an EMT, I was a medic in the war, and they just put him on an ambulance?  Same thing for his relationship with Annie, it feels rushed and forced.  It feels like time has supposedly gone forward much faster for Justin than for the other characters for some reason.  It just feels weird and rushed and odd somehow.
If they ever do a spin-off of this show, I hope they take Scotty and Kevin and give them their own show.  I would watch that for sure.  I think Scotty running a restaurant, Kevin being a lawyer, with full lives and careers and family life, and the process of fostering and adopting a slightly older child would be a great show.  Yep, I would watch that.

Desperate Housewives – Down the Block There’s a Riot
I have been sitting here for hours, doing other things, but all the while trying to come up with something nice to say about this episode.  I think I am jaded when it comes to DH though, since my favorite scene was Susan getting stepped on during the “riot”.
I know these kinds of things happen, where neighborhood’s protest a possible half way house in their neighborhood, and I totally understand that.  I also understand the mob mentality that comes over people, and how things can get out of control.  I even understand that in her panic about Keith getting beat up Bree would get and fire her gun.  What I don’t get is, as a responsible gun owner, as she has always come across before, how Bree could then turn and point her loaded weapon into the crowd.
I know Lynette blames Paul, and Paul told Lynette it was on her, and both are right, but both are also wrong.  People were already on edge, and it may have happened anyway, but I blame Bree.
Are we supposed to care if Paul lives or dies?  I don’t.  Are we supposed to care about what happened to Susan?  I don’t.  Are we supposed to wonder why Keith’s father Richard freaked out about finishing the back yard?  I don’t, and on this point we probably aren’t supposed to care.  I have a feeling this will never be addressed, and will just be one more thing that was done solely and strictly to keep him there so Keith could come over and beat him up.
Obviously we are supposed to care who shot Paul.  I don’t.  I have a theory, a complete and total guess, but I am not going to put it down here.  I don’t want anyone to take my theory as anything more than that, so I am not putting it in writing.  Just be sure that if it plays out the way I think it will, I will say I KNEW IT here.

Brothers & Sisters – Cold Turkey
Nora’s dream sequence was amusing.  I enjoyed seeing Holly as the step-mother, and Kev as closeted.  It went on just about the perfect amount of time; at least it didn’t drag on through the whole episode.  It was fun to see what she believed her influence on each of her children to be.  I also really enjoyed seeing Kitty with a little meat on her bones, even though she was also dumpy and unkempt.
I loved Kevin and Kitty fighting over who would host Christmas, and the fact that in the end neither won, neither lost.  They created the perfect compromise and still had the big Christmas day celebration at Nora’s even though they didn’t know she would be home for dinner.
I noticed a cute little wink and nod that I just have to share:  When Kevin and Kitty were on the phone and she was staring at the little Christmas village, one of the buildings, the big one that they pushed in on right at the beginning of the shot, was labeled “Harrison’s Hardware.”  I thought it was a fun, sweet thing for them to do.
I still don’t understand why Sarah’s office, where she seems to be spending all her time, is at the radio station where Nora works.  It really just does not make any sense to me.
I felt badly for Saul when he was finally able to confront the man he believes made him HIV+, and the guy, Stephen, didn’t even remember sleeping with him.  Also, I know that was Richard Chamberlain, but I think someone needs to put the breaks on the plastic surgery.  He looked very tight and plastic to me.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – Pleasant Little Kingdom
Paul Young is an evil genius.  I don’t believe he has any interest in actually helping ex-convicts, I believe he is doing all he is doing strictly to get back at the residents of the lane for whatever betrayal he believes they perpetrated on him.
So, the Gabby and Carlos baby switch storyline ended with their biological daughter going off with her switched mother?  That’s it, really?  It’s so annoying when this show starts a story and then it goes nowhere.  I have no idea if this is the true end of this story or if there is somehow more to come, but at face value I am really irritated that this really went nowhere.  Was this all just to explain why Juanita doesn’t look anything like Gabby or Carlos?  It still didn’t explain why her little sister looks just like her.
First Renee calls Susan “the smart one” on the lane.  She must have already been drunk when she said that, because anyone who has watched this show for more than one episode knows that is the opposite of the truth.  Marc Cherry, just because you say it’s so doesn’t make it so.
Then Renee told Susan she in love with Tom, after one weekend together 20 years ago?  I get that she may have residual attraction to him, but in love with him?  UGH  I did love Lynette’s and Tom’s storyline this week.  Their relationship tends to be the most realistic to me, the ups and downs and good and bad of a real, healthy relationship.
I don’t know how much longer I am going to be watching this show.  Honestly, if something comes up on a rival network that I want to watch, I think DH will be toast for my viewing.  I watch it now mostly out of habit and that there is nothing competing with it that is of interest to me.  I just need something to tip the scales and I am done.  It’s so sad to remember when this show was innovative and different and fun, and see how far it has fallen in six seasons.

Brothers & Sisters – Get a Room
This episode made me laugh a lot.  I really enjoyed all the romantic entanglements and even more loved seeing Kevin stoned.    It was great to see everyone having some fun, even if they still had their angst-filled moments.  I didn’t even miss Justin until the previews for the next episode, when I saw him and said to myself “Wow, Justin wasn’t even in this episode!”
I like that Kitty is going to be “hooking up” with a younger man.  I know he has a decent number of episodes scheduled, and I like the actor, Ryan Devlin most recently from Cougar Town, and I hope he and Kitty get to have a little fun.  She needs to lighten up and I really liked her in this episode, damning the consequences.  I didn’t even think about Robert in this episode, so for me this new character of Seth is a hit.
I didn’t realize Luc was going to be gone for a while, and while I am sad to see him leaving for a bit, maybe we will get to see more of Sarah in the workplace, especially now that she has a workplace.  It’s funny to me that she bought this big media empire, and the only place we have seen her working is in the radio station (one of six that she owns) in which her mother works.  Shouldn’t she have a big corporate office somewhere, from which she would run her conglomerate?
It was a good episode, and I hope they continue to bring the humor to the show.  It has been missing for a while now, and things have been really serious for a long time, but this episode reminded me just how funny this cast can be, and how well written the humor is on this show.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – Sorry Grateful
I didn’t really enjoy this week’s episode.  In my opinion, every one of the lead women was strident, except perhaps Bree.  When this show first started, I never thought I would like Bree more than any of the other women, but I have to say this week that seemed to be the case.
Bree tried to be there for Keith as his parents decided, at Bree’s Thanksgiving dinner table, that they wanted a divorce.  Keith’s father said that it has been a long time coming, but Keith didn’t see it coming, and it shook his faith in marriage.  That may be a good thing for Bree, since Keith has an engagement ring he was obviously planning to propose to Bree.  I don’t believe she would say yes at this point, so maybe it’s a good thing that this has made Keith question his decision to propose.  Also, Keith’s father expressed a bit of interest in Bree, and it certainly seemed to be inappropriate from a man who just separated from his wife, not to mention the father of her boyfriend.  He is more age appropriate for Bree, so my guess would be she will find herself attracted to him as well as to Keith.
I am pretty irritated with the rest of the women, and their surrounding storylines.  Because of this, I am not even going to talk about them this week.  This blog is supposed to be fun for me to write, and you to read, and writing about any of the other storylines this week would be neither.

Brothers & Sisters – The Rhapsody of the Flesh
I have never been a fan of Sonia Braga.  It’s not that I don’t like her or her work; I just don’t really know any of her work.  I did like her as Luc’s mother here, so I guess that’s a good thing.  I totally understand why Luc doesn’t want her around, doesn’t want her to infiltrate the Walker family, since she wreaked a lot of havoc in one 24 hour period.
I am glad Nora and Dr. Karl are finally starting to get together.  I am really hopeful they actually work out and last for a while, for two reasons.  First, I think Nora deserves some happiness with a man, and second because I really love John Terry, and am really glad to see him on my television again.
Poor Kevin and Scotty:  they get two weeks of good screen time because they were in conflict and might break up.  Now they are back together, working on their issues, and back on the backburner.
Justin spent this episode basically making out with any female in his vicinity.  I kind of understand this:  it’s the first time he has been single, sober, and in the US all at the same time.  He SHOULD enjoy it, but someone needs to explain to him that while that’s okay, don’t do so with women who not only know each other but work together AND work with you.  And don’t stick your tongue down the throat of some woman, whose name you don’t even know, and who is a guest in your mother’s home.  She could just possibly turn out to be your older sister’s fiancĂ©e’s mother.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – A Humiliating Business
Bree started menopause.  If I passed out every time I’ve had a hot flash, I would have some explaining to do:  at work, at the chiropractor, at a friend’s house, to other drives on the highway.  I wish male writers would consult with doctors when they write about menopause, since they never seem to get it.  Hell, on this show they should just ask their actresses, there are at least a couple of them who could be helpful.
I knew the minute Bree had a new doctor that it was going to end up that she was Keith’s mother.  They telescoped that pretty obviously.  I WAS excited to see John Schneider as his father.  I had heard he was cast, but actually forgot until he was on screen.
Susan is desperate for work, and actually takes on the job of being Lynette’s nanny, after thinking Lynette and Renee wanted to hire her to be an interior decorator in their new business.  A bit silly and naive of her to think that they would need to hire someone to work in a business they *just* started.  Also, who is taking care of MJ while she is taking care of Lynette’s baby, and having drinks with Lynette when the workday is done?  She isn’t working teacher’s hours anymore, and Lynette and Renee were taking their client out for a 7:00 reservation, then Lynette invites Susan to stay for a drink.  Yet, no sign of Tom, any of their other children, or MJ even though it is probably after 10:00 PM.  I just don’t know who the heck is watching MJ, and I hope they are doing so free of charge, since it wouldn’t make sense for Susan to be acting as a nanny just to earn enough to pay a babysitter to watch MJ.
Paul’s wife, Beth, finally had sex with him.  Then his former cell mate, Derek Yeager, showed up to stay in Paul’s old house and “do some work” for Paul, and Paul refused, yet again, to tell Beth what he’s doing.  Beth then called her mother (I was starting to doubt my idea that her mother is Felicia, because how does she get so much phone time in jail?), and had an idea when they were on the phone.  She went over to talk to Derek and threatened to tell the police he attacked her, if he didn’t tell her what was going on.  She found out, told Paul she knew what he was up to, and then told him she understands about vengeance.  So, now Beth knows, but the audience still doesn’t.  We DID finally find out that Felicia is indeed Beth’s mother, so I feel good about guessing that one a while back.  Although I probably shouldn’t pat myself on the back too hard, since it was pretty obvious that was the direction it was going.
Bob and Carlos got to be friendly, and Lee made Gabby think Bob may have been trying to “flip” Carlos.  After some “hilarious” misunderstandings, Bob admitted to Gabby that he is just lonely and looking for a friend.  He said that after he and Lee split up, he just hadn’t had a lot of time with friends.  Eventually Gabby took Lee over to Bob’s, and they are apparently going to start working on getting back together.

Brothers & Sisters – Resolved
Nora met a handsome doctor who has a show on the same radio station she is on.  His name was Dr. Karl, but to me he remains Dr. Christian Shephard.  I really like this actor, and there is some good chemistry between him and Sally Field, so I hope we see more of him.
Paige worked on a debate, and in so doing, worked on getting Kevin and Scotty back together.  She needed help with her debate skills and strategy, and asked both Kevin and Scotty to help her.  As it became evident to both men that Paige was using this as a way to try and get them to work out their problems, Kevin told Paige it was inappropriate.  Maybe it was, but she was obviously doing from her heart, and her plan actually worked.  She got Kevin and Scotty talking to each other, and they came back together, are going to work on their issues, and they both said “I love you” to each other, which is a great start at healing.
Sarah and Kitty spent the episode sniping at each other, but it wasn’t a serious argument and they resolved it by the end of the hour.  Sarah decided she was going to buy a media holding company, and one of the holdings happened to be the radio station for which Nora works.  This should make things interesting going forward, Sarah in a position of power and authority over her mother.
Justin realized that David was using again, and took him to a meeting.  I hope that is the end of “David’s using again” storyline, because A) I don’t really care and B) If I have to care, he should be stronger and really there for Holly, the woman he professes to love.  Both David and Holly told Justin he needs to move on, and be open to new people and experiences.  So, Justin took Holly’s nurse, who we have never seen before tonight, a coffee and asked her out.  I think this storyline is a bit premature, I mean Justin still had a tan line from his wedding ring for goodness sake.  That said, the actress is Dave Annable’s real-life wife, and she was very good in the movie Cloverfield, so I will give the storyline a chance.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – Excited and Scared
Paul’s attempt to blackmail Susan backfired, when she told Mike about her stint on the internet.  Then Paul went one step further and told one of the parents from the school at which she teaches about Susan’s extracurricular activities.  Word got back to the principal, and Susan got fired.  Eventually she figured out that Paul was the one who engineered all of this, and she went after him with a club that was part of MJ’s Halloween costume.  My major complaint in all of this is that the club should have, and would have, been plastic, yet while she was swinging it around Paul, it was obviously more solid, probably wood.  No parent would let their child walk around on Halloween with a giant wooden club.  It was a stupid prop contrivance that didn’t work for me.
Once Susan was fired, Mike had to take a job offer in Alaska, so it seems James Denton will be off the show for a while.  The other side of this is that Paul had finally had it with Beth, his wife, not being willing to have sex with him, and had told her he wanted her out.  When Susan went after him with the club, Beth stopped her, by threatening her with a gun.  Susan left the house, and Beth actually really kissed Paul, for maybe the first time.  I have no idea if it was because of a conversation she had with her mother, or because the she was excited by the violence, or because she was trying to keep her place as Paul’s wife.  I am still not sure what’s going on with her, but I am interested to find out.
Tom’s mother was confused, angry, and emotional again this week, and Tom finally saw that she has a form of dementia or Alzheimer’s.  After she got confused and lost on Halloween night he spoke with his brother and sister, and together they decided she needed to go into an assisted living facility.  She was upset about it, but I believe deep down inside she understood.  I am glad nothing happened with any of Tom and Lynette’s children before they realized how serious the situation was.
Gabby is spending too much time with, and giving too much attention to, Grace.  Grace is the child who Gabby and Carlos believe is their biological daughter.  Juanita is starting to get very jealous of the attention Grace is receiving, and I feel she has every right to be jealous and questioning.  I will be interested to see if/when they tell Juanita what is going on, and how she handles it.  My guess is she is eventually going to overhear her parents talking and find out that way.
Bree found out that Keith has an anger issue, and has been arrested for it a couple of times.  He specifically has a problem when a man makes the woman he dating uncomfortable, and when he comes to her defense, he gets carried away.  Bree in turn told Keith about her issues with alcohol, so he would see she isn’t really perfect, and she can handle his issues, as long as he can handle hers.
My favorite part of this episode was Lee showing up dressed as Marilyn Monroe at Renee’s party.  He walked in the door only to see Renee dressed exactly the same!  It was a good, laugh out loud, moment.

Brothers & Sisters – An Ideal Husband
Tonight was basically the Kevin and Scotty hour.  I love them both, so I am okay with that, although I hate this cheating storyline.  It was good to find out that there were absolutely no feelings between Scotty and the “other man” since the other guy didn’t even seem to remember Scotty’s name.  He was working as a waiter at the restaurant the night Scotty cheated with him, and he was just “right place, right time”.
Kevin outs Scotty’s cheating to his whole family, so Scotty not only has to deal with the guilt he feels, and Kevin’s feeling, but then he also has to deal with the anger and disappointment of Kevin’s whole family.  Eventually Kevin tells Scotty he isn’t mad, he is in pain.  It was an excellent, heartbreaking scene.
Kevin finally admits that he wasn’t there for Scotty at that time either.  He opted to avoid the biggest night of Scotty’s professional life, the opening of his restaurant, to sit in a bar and drink.  He admitted it first to his mother, then finally to Scotty.  So really, neither of them is without blame.  I hope this knowledge allows them to start coming back to each other and healing.
In other storylines:  Kitty and her “boyfriend” broke up, thank heavens.  I am not ready to see her get serious with anyone.  Sarah and Luc considered not getting married, but eventually she came to her senses and they announced their engagement to the family.  It was nice to see some happy news for the family after a fairly dark episode.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – Let Me Entertain You
I loved Gabby’s line about how difficult it must be to be married to a professional athlete.  That was a fun little nod to her real life.
I like Bree with Keith.  He sees things differently than she does, and she needs that in her life.  Orson was a good match for her because they were so much alike, but maybe they were too much alike.  There was nothing to talk about because they were always on the same page.  Keith and Bree are so different, they have things to discuss, and he doesn’t over intellectualize everything like Bree does.
Renee and Gabby’s smack-down was fun to watch.  I think I can see both of their points of view.  Neither should have revealed each other’s secrets, it was uncalled for and inappropriate.
Lynette was nearly cruel to Tom’s mother but she tried to make amends.  Then what I thought was obvious from the beginning of the episode was revealed:  she is having memory lapses, probably Alzheimer’s.  Lynette wasn’t there to see it, but Penny was.
Paul confronted Susan about what she’s been doing online, and threatened to tell Mike what she’s been doing.  He wants to buy her house, and threatened to blackmail her to get it.  I have no idea what he is up to, what his master plan is, and why he wants buy up houses on Wisteria Lane, but I am intrigued enough for it to be a reason to keep watching.

Brothers & Sisters – Call Mom
DAMN IT, Scotty.  I guess I get why he may have cheated on Kevin, they have been having a tough time since they weren’t able to conceive via artificial insemination, but damn it I didn’t see this coming.  I am hopeful that they can work their way through it and come through it even stronger on the other side.
I am glad Nora got hired at the radio station.  She needs a job, and this is about perfect for her.  She gets to be a busybody in all her callers lives, instead of just in her children’s.  It should open some great new storylines.
I hope Luc and Sarah get married.  I like them together, and I think he has softened her a lot.
Kitty and her new “friend” John are growing on me.  I am still grieving for Robert, but so is Kitty and as she works her way through her grief, I am doing the same.
Justin on the other hand, JUST slept with his ex-wife, and still loves her.  He needs to grieve too, before moving on to a new woman.  I know there is a new woman on the horizon for him, I don’t know if he’s ready for that.  I hope he took his mother’s advice to heart.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – The Thing That Counts Is What’s Inside
Is it bad that I enjoy the 30 second ads for Castle shown during DH more than I enjoy this show?
Lynette is stressed because she is “raising 5 kids”?  Aren’t 2 of them in college?  I know there are still responsibilities there, but they are pretty much raised, aren’t they?  So, she really only has 3 that she is still raising, which is actually LESS than when Penny was a baby and she had young twins, and another son, in addition to the baby.  I am sure there are tons of stay at home mothers out there that would like a nanny, but can’t afford one, so they make what they do work.  It makes me feel like Lynette is acting more like Gabby:  spoiled.
So, Susan is going to delve deeper into the internet erotica/porn business.  Yippee:  Just what I want to see, more nearly naked Susan.  I am so over this storyline.  I am interested in who now knows Susan’s secret.  I believe it was Paul that picked up her billboard strip, but it also could have been Mike.  I would guess the writers probably haven’t decided who it is yet either, since they don’t seem to plan that far ahead, which is why right now it is a secret.
I am glad Bree and Renee have decided to become friends, although it would have been fun to see them as adversaries for more than one episode.  Think of the damage they could have done to each other.
Gabby is, of course, being selfish.  I have nothing else to say about this storyline right now.

Brothers & Sisters – A Righteous Kiss
Cooper’s not even in Jr High yet, is he?  Yet they are doing Romeo and Juliet?  A play with suicide and kissing… not the most appropriate material for children, is it?  Not to mention the dialogue would be horribly difficult for a child that age to memorize.  It felt a bit unrealistic to me, although I don’t have children, so what do I know?
I did love that Sarah told off the two mothers who were making her life difficult, but that she was trying to impress.  They were snobs who looked down on her relationship with Luc, while both of them have relationship issues of their own.  Neither of them had the right to cast the first stone.
Justin and Rebecca finally said goodbye, and she is heading to NYC to follow her dream.  I feel badly for Rebecca, since Holly still doesn’t feel for her the way a mother should feel for her daughter.  The head trauma Holly suffered in the accident just isn’t improving, and while she seems to like talking to Rebecca, she doesn’t feel the love for her, because Holly just doesn’t really remember her.
Poor Saul thought he might have a chance at love, but again it was a miss.  He told the man he wanted to be involved with that he is HIV positive, and because Charlie had already loved someone who died from an AIDS related illness, he just couldn’t handle it.
Kitty and her new Ojai man spent some time together and bantered back and forth.  She didn’t want to admit she likes him, but finally did.  I still am not happy they are cramming this new man down our throats, but at least he is growing on me.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – Truly Content
Gabby is going to look for her bio-daughter, and of course isn’t going to tell Carlos.  Just more of the same old, same old from these two, and in one episode the family has been found.  I am glad Carlos found out what is going on and that he pointed out to her how badly it could end.
I am pretty tired of watching Susan prance around in her underwear every episode.  I keep waiting for Mike to find out what she is doing.  I pretty much expect he is going to be working on the plumbing in someone’s house and it’s going to be on in the background.  Whatever it takes, I would love for this storyline to go away now.
Tom thought he got high smoking medical marijuana, but Lynette had replaced it with oregano.  I love that Carlos was the one to point out to Tom that it oregano.
The only storyline I am really interested in is the new competition between Bree and Renee.  I look forward to seeing these two strong women sparring with each other.

Brothers & Sisters – Faking It
I was about to be snarky about the fact that Sarah has been passing for 39 with Luc, but when I researched Rachel Griffiths, I discovered she’s only 41.  I think some women look older when they are too thin, and she may be one of those women.  I did laugh when Luc told her he had always known her age, because he looked at her driver’s license.
At least they tried to explain Rebecca’s absence in her mother’s life recently.  I don’t know if I really buy it, but at least they tried.  I don’t think I would have handled it any better than Rebecca if my mother didn’t remember me.
Justin sure got that room painted and all the furniture moved back in really quickly, didn’t he?  He wasn’t even ½ way through painting, went to dinner with the family, and came home, finished painting, cleaned up, and moved everything back into the room before Rebecca showed up.  A painter like that could make a lot of money!
So, Rebecca divorced Justin when he was in Afghanistan.  That is pretty crappy and it makes me pretty angry with her.  She should have at least waited until he came home to serve him the papers.  She was mad and didn’t feel like she could trust him, but it was still a really lousy thing to do.
I am glad we saw Evan, Kitty’s son, at the end of the episode.  I was afraid maybe he had gone missing, since Kitty was around the house all day and we didn’t see him at all.  I am glad Kitty is starting to think about moving on, but I still miss Robert.  I know he was in a coma for a year before she removed the life support, but for the audience it’s only been 2 episodes, and it feels a little soon.

Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters

Desperate Housewives – You Must Meet My Wife
Paul’s wife Beth definitely has some issues, not the least of which is the fact that she is married to a murderer who really doesn’t have the patience he claims to have.  I have never understood women who marry men in prison, especially those that marry convicted murderers who may never be paroled.
Tom and Lynette needed an intervention, and while I think Renee’s tactics were not good, and she may have been making a small move on Tom in the process, I am glad Tom and Lynette finally talked.
I am shocked that Gabby already found out about Juanita not being her daughter.  I really expected that storyline to drag out for the entire season.  It wasn’t as dramatic as I expected.
I hate that Susan is lying to Mike.  I still don’t really understand why men would want to watch sexy housecleaning.  But, if it’s something they enjoy, then more power to them.  It’s just not my thing.
I really hope Brea hooks up with Keith, her contractor.  She could use a little wild, unexpected lust and fun in her life.  And anything to see Brian Austin Green shirtless more works for me!

Brothers & Sisters – Brief Encounter
I still don’t really understand why Nora didn’t want everyone to know she had a new job, she knows her family is nosey and they can see something is going on with her.  She should have known they would all be all over trying to figure out what is going on, and she should have known they would assume the wrong thing.
I am glad Luc is having some success, even if it as an underwear model.  It’s funny that Sarah is taking a backseat to Luc both in career path and personally.  Paige thinks Luc is way cooler than her mother right now.  Paige getting drunk at the party was disturbing, but not terribly surprising.  Where was her brother Cooper, anyway?
Mateo needs Kevin and Scotty.  I still believe he is going to end up living with them, either as a foster child or they are going to end up adopting him.  It would be great to see them adjusting to living with a 14 year old son.  Or maybe he has just opened them up to the possibility of adopting an older child.
It was nice to see Justin involved with Holly, talking to her and doing what he can to help her.  I hope Justin gets some closure with Rebecca soon, I think he needs to move on.  He has changed, and really come into his own, and while he loves Rebecca, she didn’t wait for him or stick by him, while he did what he felt he had to do, and went back to a warzone.
Kitty took a step forward, and I am glad she is renting a house in Ojai.  She will be far enough away to get some perspective and have some time to reflect, but close enough to have her family nearby.  I would like to know how she was able to sign a 3 month lease though.  Do those even really exist?
